Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted he has a difficult decision to make over whether to enter the winter transfer market for a full back.
The Frenchman is suffering an unprecedented situation where full backs Andre Santos, Kieran Gibbs, Bacary Sagna and Carl Jenkinson are all sidelined.
Wenger has had to use central defenders such as Thomas Vermaelen, Laurent Koscielny and Johan Djourou in recent weeks as cover.
The situation has left Wenger pondering whether he should snap up a full back to slot straight in. And though he admits the decision is a tough one, he is leaning towards making do.
"At the moment it is very difficult because we have players out who are short[ly] to come back", Wenger told Arsenal’s official website.
"There are difficult decisions to make because we are short in the full back positions", he added.
"But you think ‘do you really want to buy a full back for three or four years?’
"When you have four out and two close to coming back, I think no, because we have people who can do the job during this period."
