Chelsea have agreed a fee with Bolton Wanderers for defender Gary Cahill.
Trotters boss Owen Coyle has confirmed that an offer for the 26-year-old has been accepted, with the North West club keen to ensure a fee is realised for a player who will be out of contract in the summer.
"There has been a fee agreed between the clubs and we have now given Gary’s representatives permission to speak to Chelsea", commented Coyle.
Personal terms are not expected to present a problem, with Andre Villas-Boas keen to add Cahill to his squad as soon as the winter transfer window officially opens on 1st January.
Bolton paid £5M to sign the defender from Aston Villa in 2008; they are expected to receive £7M from Chelsea.
