Luka Modric has declared his intention to put any talks over leaving Tottenham Hotspur on hold until the end of the season.

In recent days speculation has grown over potential bids for the Croatian schemer from Chelsea and Manchester United respectively, but Spurs have kept true to their stance of wanting to keep hold of the 26-year-old.

For Modric himself, the latest batch of transfer rumours are press manufactured and the summer is when the real decision will need to be taken.

"All this talk is just in the press", said Modric to Sportske Novosti.

"I don’t know anything about any of these alleged offers."

And the playmaker reiterated his commitment to Spurs – at least until the end of the season.

"We are doing our best at Tottenham to get the results the club and fans want.

"Considering all the circumstances, particularly due to the fact that I do not want to go over what I went through in the summer transfer period, I can say with almost 100% certainty that I will stay at Tottenham until the summer.

"There is a small chance I could leave as it is a theoretical possibility if the club gets an offer for me and it is one you do not want to refuse.

"However, the reality is that I will stay at Spurs until June and then we will see."
