Montpellier owner Louis Nicollin has mocked Paris Saint-Germain for appointing Carlo Ancelotti on a contract worth a whopping €500,000 a month.
Nicollin’s side are challenging PSG for this season’s Ligue 1 title and events at the Parc des Prince have been watched closely by the south coast side.
There is though nothing to fear from Ancelotti’s appointment for Nicollin, who fails to see what the former Chelsea manager can bring to PSG that other coaches could not.
"The Parisians and PSG can do what they want. It does not affect me", said Nicollin.
"Ancelotti, he makes me laugh.
"It’s dumb to take someone like him on and pay €500,000 a month.
"I must be dreaming. I don’t see what he has that makes him better than others."
Ancelotti inherits a side from Antione Kombouare that sits on top of Ligue 1.
Montpellier are second, just three points back from PSG.
