Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has admitted that David Beckham is wrestling with family issues over his potential move to the French capital.

Beckham has been made a lucrative offer to join PSG, one worth some €800,000 per month, but Los Angeles Galaxy have countered that with a rolling one-year contract for the Englishman to stay where he is.

And while the lure of playing under Carlo Ancelotti and helping to turn PSG into one of Europe’s biggest clubs is known to appeal to the 36-year-old, his family are settled in California.

It has put Beckham in a quandary and Leonardo is understanding of his situation.

"The question has never been professional but family", said the Brazilian.

"It’s a difficult choice for him to move the whole family to Paris. We’ll wait a bit.

"It’s a personal choice, it is not easy for him."

Leonardo also denied that PSG had considered Beckham’s signing a done deal.

"We never said it was done. It’s not a matter of the contract."
