Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has hailed his side’s extraordinary team spirit and character after they grabbed a 2-1 victory away at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Villas-Boas’ men went ahead through Brazilian Ramires after 54 minutes and looked to be heading to a slender victory.
However, Wolves hit back with just six minutes left on the clock as Stephen Ward found the back of the net. Suddenly, Chelsea looked set for their fourth 1-1 draw in five games.
But the Blues did not give up and, in the 89th minute, put together a fine team move which was duly finished off by Frank Lampard. It was 2-1 and Villas-Boas’ side had a vital three points.
For the Chelsea boss, the win was a demonstration of the unity and spirit within his dressing room.
"It was good to find the strength of character to continue to attack when Wolves scored and to have that small belief that we could score, and we got the reward", said the Portuguese.
"It was about team spirit and team unity", he added, before focusing specifically on speculation that all is not well at Stamford Bridge.
"After the recent happenings when we lost points at home it is normal for stories to come out about untrue things going on. It is an untrue story.
"We accept criticism, we have been through this period with unfair speculation and we kept doing our job and when this has happened this season we came out with our best results."
