Legendary Bulgarian striker Hristo Stoichkov has inked a deal to return to his native country to take charge of Litex Lovech.

The former Barcelona hitman parted company with South African giants giants Mamleodi Sundowns in 2010 and is free to take over at the Oranges.

Stoichkov has enjoyed a mixed career on the bench so far, bossing Bulgaria from 2004 until 2007 before switching to Spanish side Celta Vigo.

Next it was to South Africa for the 45-year-old, but now he will have the opportunity to manage a club in his homeland, a task he has always looked forward to.

"Our goal is to win the Bulgarian Cup and play in Europe next year", commented Stoichkov.

Litex won the title last season, but currently sit 7th in Bulgaria’s A Division.
