Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is keen for defender Gary Cahill to join Chelsea as soon as possible.
The Reebok Stadium outfit have accepted an offer for the England international, thought to be in the region of £7M, but initial discussions between the player’s agent and Chelsea did not yield instant results.
Bolton are keen to put the money from Cahill’s sale into buying new recruits in the current transfer window, but there is as yet no clue when the defender may make the move.
"If it is to be done early, then great. We will adjust", said Coyle to the BBC.
"I would expect in the next couple of days that there will be further dialogue between Gary’s representative and Chelsea.
"There was one initial meeting between Gary Cahill’s representative and Chelsea football club. We’ve agreed a fee."
Cahill has managed to remain focused on the task at hand with Bolton and scored the winner in the Trotters’ 2-1 win away at Everton last night.
