Udinese have snapped up Swiss midfielder Gelson Fernandes on loan until the end of the current campaign.
The 25-year-old had been with English Championship outfit Leicester City on a season-long loan deal, but that was cancelled by mutual consent earlier this month.
And rather than return to his parent club, French side Saint-Etienne, the tough-tackling midfielder has headed to Italy.
Fernandes joins an Udinese side fighting for a top three spot and place in the Champions League in Serie A.
The Switzerland international started his career with Sion before joining Manchester City.
From the Citizens it was on to Saint-Etienne before loan spells with Chievo Verona and finally Leicester.
