The brother of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has vowed not to follow the path of Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany’s brother.

Jordan Lukaku, a left sided player who can operate at left back or in left midfield, currently turns out for Belgian giants Anderlecht, the club his brother represented until his big money move to Stamford Bridge last summer.

Weighing heavily on Jordan however, is the thought of not matching his brother and instead following a path similar to that of Vincent Kompany’s sibling, Francois who, after spells with Mechelen, Beerschot and Macclesfield Town, now plays in the Belgian second tier with Brussels.

And Jordan is determined to follow his own path and do his best.

"I know people say I’m the worst Lukaku", said the defender.

"But I’ve learned not to pay attention to these comparisons.

"They do not matter since we do not play in the same position. My place is on the left at the back or in midfield. And because of my versatility, I hope to earn playing time with the first team.

"I don’t want to train and just take my place from time to time on the bench, finally not breaking through.

"I don’t want to be like Francois Kompany."

Jordan Lukaku is under contract at Anderlecht until 2013 and has taken a spot on the bench twice this season.
