French defender William Gallas has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to join Paris Saint-Germain before putting pen to paper on a deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
Gallas signed for Spurs in the summer of 2010 after four seasons with the club’s arch-rivals Arsenal.
But the versatile defender did not have to head to White Hart Lane and could instead have chosen to move back to France.
Family concerns though scuppered the deal.
"I had the chance to sign for PSG", said Gallas to Telefoot.
"Financially it was the same amount (in wages), but I turned it down because my family wanted to stay in England."
