Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed he is in the market for another signing in the current transfer window.

The Blues are pushing ahead with their move for Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill, but Villas-Boas has his eyes on an extra arrival – only if the right type of player is available however.

And it is for that reason that the Portuguese is playing it cool.

“Apart from the central defender we might get one more player in, but we are not sure yet”, said Villas-Boas, before pointing to the hard nature of the January window.

“It’s always difficult. First of all, the top talent is usually cup-tied in the Champions League, or in the other domestic competitions”, added the former FC Porto boss.

“It is difficult for the selling club to make players available, so it is normal to struggle in the transfer market.

“Normally it is a market where you overpay a lot and that is not what we want to do right now.

“I think that is why we have not set out to do a lot in the transfer window.”
