Everton winger Royston Drenthe has given notice that he wants to return to Holland to play for his first club Feyenoord in three years’ time.
The 24-year-old is on a season-long loan at Goodison Park from Real Madrid but, with his contract at the Bernabeu running out at the end of the current campaign, Everton are free to negotiate his stay on a more permanent basis.
Though if David Moyes does so, Drenthe will not be planning to stick around for more than three years.
"I’ll certainly do it once again", said the winger to NUsport about playing for his former club Feyenoord.
"Feyenoord are doing well again", he added.
"When? Especially by 2015.
"I will still have a bit of explosiveness left.
"I definitely won’t return as a bench warmer."
Drenthe began his professional career with the Rotterdam giants before making a big money move to Real Madrid in 2007.
The Dutchman’s time in the Spanish capital was not all plain sailing however and he spent last season on loan at Hercules before joining Everton in the summer window.
