Marseille have joined Aston Villa, Chelsea, Malaga and Sevilla in keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios.
The 27-year-old is proving to be one of the most in demand players of the winter transfer window, with the Ruhr giants bracing themselves for a number of offers.
One is believed to have already arrived, with sources in Spain indicating Malaga have sent a proposal for a €10M transfer to the Bundesliga champions.
Dortmund are believed to want to keep hold of the Paraguay international, though could be persuaded to relent by a suitably large offer.
Marseille boss Didier Deschamps is the latest tactician to keep Barrios in mind as a winter reinforcement and is preparing to swoop if Andre-Pierre Gignac moves on in the current window.
Gignac saw a switch to Fulham break down over the summer and has not seen eye-to-eye with Deschamps since landing back at the Stade Velodrome.
Should Deschamps’ prove successful in persuading Dortmund to sell then he is likely to face opposition from a number of interested parties.
