Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has revealed that he has a special understanding with his attacking team-mates at Old Trafford.

While Wayne Rooney has benefited from Valencia’s return to form from a right wing role – the England striker headed home the first against Manchester City in United’s recent 3-2 FA Cup win from a Valencia cross – the player himself is happy to supply not just the forward, but other front line players too.

"I think Wayne has been at a good level all season", said Valencia to his club’s website, "really on top form and now he is showing again how valuable he is for us.

"What’s great about him is that he’s very bright. He sees things very early and gives the ball quickly, so it gives you a chance to be quicker and sharper yourself.

"But I think I have a good understanding and relationship not just with Rooney, but with other players like Nani, Chicharito and Danny Welbeck."

The winger also recognised his recent success in supplying Dimitar Berbatov, and believes that has boosted his confidence.

"I think when you do manage to put in good crosses and create goals, it does give you confidence."
