Tottenham Hotspur are casting their eye over Real Murcia shot-stopper Javi Jimenez.
The English Premier League giants are planning for the departure of Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, who wants regular first team football that the Lilywhites cannot guarantee.
Gomes is expected to quit White Hart Lane in the current transfer window, leaving Spurs boss Harry Redknapp looking for another custodian to bring in.
And sources in Spain have confirmed that one of the names under consideration at White Hart Lane is none other than Jimenez.
The 24-year-old turned out for Real Valladolid until the end of last season, but opted to quit the club when the new contract on offer did not meet his expectations.
Real Murcia were waiting with open arms and a two-year deal for the highly rated shot-stopper, and he duly signed on the dotted line for Los Pimentoneros.
The Spaniard would undoubtedly jump at the opportunity to move to Spurs, but Segunda Division outfit Real Murcia would not be keen to lose Jimenez’ services in mid-season.
