A duel with AC Milan, more than just the prize of signing a top class striker, is helping to drive Inter towards capturing Carlos Tevez.
The out-of-favour Manchester City striker has been targeted by both Milan clubs, with AC Milan having at first agreed terms with the Argentine but then been forced to reconsider their interest due to the player’s asking price.
Inter have joined the race and yesterday sent a bid of €25M to Eastlands.
That amount is thought to be too little for City, although Inter are coming closer to snapping up the former Manchester United man.
"Tevez is a great player and we’re looking closely at the possibility of signing him", said Inter president Massimo Moratti.
"Other clubs are keen on him and we do certain things only if they make sense.
"On the other hand, winning a derby in the transfer market would be interesting."
