Aly Cissokho’s agent is working overtime to make a move from Lyon to Newcastle United a reality for his client.
The left back wants to join the Magpies and Les Gones need to sell to cover a budget shortfall, but problems remain over the fee.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has trimmed his expectations a little, though still demands a minimum of €10M for the 24-year-old.
Newcastle’s offer is thought to be a little under €9M at present – unacceptable to Aulas.
The player’s representatives are hopeful common ground can be found however and Cissokho’s agent is clocking up the air miles between France and England.
Cissokho has made 19 appearances in Ligue 1 this season.
