English Premier League outfit Newcastle United are seriously exploring the possibility of snapping up defender Yohan Benalouane from Serie A side Cesena.
The Magpies have already splashed the cash in the current transfer window by signing Papiss Cisse from Freiburg for €12M and have been heavily linked with Lyon full back Aly Cissokho.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is known to want to add another centre back to his squad before the window shuts and the 24-year-old Benalouane has impressed the English club’s scouting team.
Benalouane joined Cesena in 2010 after starting his career with Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Etienne.
The Tunisian would most likely be attracted to the idea of swapping the Serie A relegation battlers for a Newcastle side chasing European football in the Premier League.
He is under contract with Cesena until 2014.
