Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas believes his side should have beaten Norwich City at Carrow Road yesterday.

Villas-Boas’ men could only manage a 0-0 draw against Paul Lambert’s newly promoted team and once again Spaniard Fernando Torres was under the spotlight for his lack of a finishing touch.

Torres saw an effort well saved from the Norwich keeper in the first half, but was guilty of putting wide from close range in the second as the Blues lost further ground in the Premier League title race.

But regardless of that, Villas-Boas thought his troops should have won the game, though he did have praise for Norwich shot-stopper John Ruddy.

"We created enough opportunities to win the game", said the former FC Porto boss.

"The first half was split between the two teams with good opportunities each. The second-half we created a lot more and managed to be dominant but couldn’t find the back of the net. Had we found it, we would have taken three points because we looked solid and confident.

"The players really fought hard to get the winning goal but we couldn’t find this winning goal through our lack of efficiency and also due to Ruddy’s amazing performance."

Villas-Boas refused to round on Torres for his missed chances however, as he appreciated the Spaniard’s work ethic.

"Torres tried really hard and his moves once again were sharp and incisive.

"He is trying really hard to get the goals that we want but he had a major impact in our attacking game and we were happy with his play."
