Everton target Jeremy Perbet has told Inside Futbol that he wants to move to the Dutch Eredivisie when his time at Belgian club RAEC Mons is over.
Perbet was the sensation of 2011 in Belgian football, scoring 40 goals in 40 games with Mons and he has continued his fine form in 2012.
Now, rather than thinking about relegation from the Jupiler Pro League, Mons are established in mid-table – quite a feat for the newly promoted outfit.
And much of this is down in no small part to 27-year-old striker Perbet.
It has been little surprise therefore that much attention has been paid to his exploits, with English Premier League outfit Everton believed to be taking a keen interest, while several sides from the forward’s native France are regularly watching his performances too.
"I’m cold-blooded in front of goal and I don’t need many chances to put the ball in the net", Perbet told Inside Futbol in a wide-ranging interview.
"I am the typical penalty box striker, however I am good at protecting the ball too and playing with my back to goal."
The Frenchman however feels that, despite being linked with moves to England and France, it is Holland which would be the best next step in a career which is clearly on an upward trajectory.
"The Premier League and Spanish La Liga are currently the best competitions", admitted Perbet.
"But I feel that Holland’s Eredivisie is the right league for me to show my true potential."
