Juventus have moved to bolster their defence by snapping up Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres from Sevilla.
Caceres has joined the Bianconeri on loan until the end of the season, for which Sevilla will pocket €1.5M, while if the Italians choose to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign, a further €8M will be due.
Juventus have been looking to sign another centre back for some time and had been linked with a number of players, including Gary Cahill, who recently signed for Chelsea, and Blues defender Alex, who looks set for Paris Saint-Germain.
The 24-year-old’s abilities are no stranger to Juventus, with the Italians having had the player for the duration of the 2009/10 campaign on loan.
At that time Caceres was under contract to Barcelona, but a season wracked by injury pushed the Bianconeri away from a move.
Caceres has been in fine form for Los Rojiblancos this season and Juventus boss Antonio Conte will hope for more of the same in Serie A.
