Inter technical manager Ernesto Paolillo has poured cold water on talk that Jose Mourinho could return to the Nerazzurri at the end of the season.

Mourinho’s future has been the subject of much debate of late after reports of trouble behind the scenes at Real Madrid.

The Portuguese was even said to have instructed his advisers to look for a new challenge for his talents in the summer.

And the man who led Inter to a historic Serie A, Champions League and Coppa Italia treble in the 2009/10 season, was quickly linked with retaking the reins at the San Siro.

For Paolillo though that is not on the agenda.

"Claudio Ranieri has proven to be what we expected – he’s a great coach", said Paolillo of the Nerazzurri’s current boss.

"So he’s staying at Inter as long as he wants", the director added.

"Mourinho back to Inter? Absolutely not.

"That period is closed and this chapter is called Ranieri. It is pointless to talk about something which does not make sense."
