Newcastle United have been linked with a loan swoop for Juventus winger Eljero Elia.
Juventus are in the process of shipping out a number of players in the current transfer window, with Amauri having signed for Fiorentina, while Luca Toni is expected to complete a lucrative switch to United Arab Emirates side Al Nasr.
Elia also looks to be surplus to requirements at the Bianconeri, with the Dutch winger having hardly featured since joining the Serie A giants from Hamburg in the summer.
Magpies boss Alan Pardew is believed to be a big fan of the 24-year-old and sounded him out about snubbing Juventus in the summer to land at St. James’ Park.
Pardew may be more successful this time around, with the Dutchman concerned at not having cemented a regular first team spot and also keeping in mind that Euro 2012 is approaching.
Newcastle would like a loan deal for Elia, with an option to make the move a permanent one, though Juventus’ attitude towards that remains to be seen.
Elia’s departure could also become unpalatable for coach Antonio Conte if Milos Krasic, as expected, leaves Turin.
