Tottenham Hotspur defender Vedran Corluka is holding talks with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
The Croatian has travelled to Germany to speak with the BayArena outfit and is expected to quickly agree to the proposal on the table.
That is for the 25-year-old to spend the remainder of the season on loan with Robin Dutt’s side, in a bid for the first team football which has eluded him at White Hart Lane.
Spurs have not agreed to a term being placed in the loan deal for Leverkusen to make Corluka’s move permanent and thus the 25-year-old will be expected back in England in time for the 2012/13 campaign.
Leverkusen have been keen to secure the services of a new right back as Dutt looks to consolidate the club’s sixth place spot in the Bundesliga.
Indeed, while pushing for a Champions League place at present looks a bridge too far for Leverkusen, a firm foundation for next season is within reach.
Corluka joined Spurs in 2008 from Manchester City.
