Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is closing in on a switch to Chelsea from Genk.
Sources in Belgium had indicated that a deal was close, with representatives from the Jupiler Pro League champions having made two trips to London to meet with Blues officials last week.
Despite this however, De Bruyne himself insisted he was in the dark over talk his long-running transfer saga was coming to a close.
But now the goalscoring midfielder is having a medical at Chelsea with a view to clinching a €10M transfer before the winter transfer window slams shut.
De Bruyne is then expected to be loaned back to Genk and will finish the campaign in Belgium.
He is expected to sign a five-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
