Everton have agreed to sign Greek defender Kostas Manolas from AEK Athens.
David Moyes’ men have thrashed out a £500,000 fee with the Greek giants and also signed off on personal terms with the 20-year-old.
However, the Toffees have put the transfer on standby as they try to snap up a striker.
With the Merseyside giants unsure how much of their winter transfer budget will be gobbled up by snapping up a hitman, the capture of Manolas is having to wait a little longer.
AEK Athens meanwhile remain keen for the sale to go ahead, as the club have been troubled by financial problems.
