West Ham United are poised to secure Brazilian striker Ze Eduardo before the winter window slams shut.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce wants to bolster his squad ahead of the end of season run-in and is determined not to see the club’s promotion push derailed due to a lack of depth.
Ze Eduardo is under contract to Italian side Genoa, but despite having inked a deal with the Rossoblu, was forced to spend much of last year on loan at former side Santos due to the failure of his Italian passport to be granted in time.
The 24-year-old made his Genoa debut just last month against AC Milan, but has not quite convinced coach Pasquale Marino and the Rossoblu are looking to recoup the €5M the striker cost.
Ze Eduardo is now due in London for talks with West Ham.
