Manchester United are believed to have received €1.8M from the sale of Mame Biram Diouf to Hannover 96.

The Bundesliga side agreed a deal with the Red Devils some time ago and have now snapped him up from the English champions.

But while Sir Alex Ferguson’s men did not disclose the amount received, sources in Germany have indicated that the English side are thought to have pocketed €1.8M for the Senegal striker.

And Hannover are delighted with their signing.

"I am happy, because with Diouf we have more alternatives in attack", said coach Mirko Slomka.

"He must try to adapt quickly so he can help in the Bundesliga and the Europa League", added the former Schalke boss.
