Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has reiterated his happiness at Anfield and insisted he is looking forward to working with new manager Brendan Rodgers.

Agger enjoyed a sparkling Euro 2012 with Denmark, despite the Scandinavian country not managing to emerge from the “Group of Death” alongside Germany, Holland and Portugal.

He formed a fine defensive wall with Simon Kjaer and is now relishing the 2012/13 campaign back at Liverpool.

Indeed, Agger also explained he would be open to talking about a new contract with the Merseyside giants.

“It is no secret that I am happy at Liverpool. Otherwise I would not have stayed there for six years”, the defender told Sporten.

“About a new contract; we have not talked, but should an offer come, I would certainly talk to the club.

“There’s no hurry, my contract runs until 2012, but I would certainly want to listen.&quot

And Agger is looking forward to working with Rodgers.

“I am looking forward to the arrival of the new coach. His work at Swansea City, I followed it, and that impressed me.”
