Joao Moutinho has hailed his Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo as the complete player ahead of the side’s Euro 2012 quarter-final with the Czech Republic this evening.

The pressure was beginning to build on Ronaldo following a failure to find the net for Paulo Bento’s men in their first two games of Group B.

But the Real Madrid man stepped up when he was needed most in Portugal’s final group match against Holland, netting a brace and leading his country’s through the group.

Now Ronaldo must turn on the style again as Portugal seek to book a semi-final spot – it is something Moutinho is sure he can do.

“Ronaldo is a complete player”, said Moutinho.

“He is good with his feet, can head and he’s very fast.

“He is a great player and the whole team can benefit from him. We are delighted to have such a player in our squad.”

Ronaldo has already enjoyed a good season at club level, helping to break Barcelona’s stranglehold on La Liga with Real Madrid.

A memorable Euro 2012 campaign would only boost his chances of winning the 2012 Ballon d’Or, something which would see him dethrone rival Lionel Messi.
