Portugal coach Paulo Bento saw his side pass the quarter-final test against the Czech Republic last night, and instantly declared that he does not mind who his side play in the Euro 2012 semi-final.
Bento’s men made hard work of seeing off a stubborn Czech side, but began to enjoy more possession and looked increasingly dangerous as the match progressed.
Portugal still needed a goalscorer though and up stepped Cristiano Ronaldo, heading home his third of Euro 2012 in the 79th minute.
There was little time for the Czechs to respond – and they could not.
Now Bento is looking ahead to the semi-final and will not fear any opponents.
"In the semi-final of a great tournament like this, there is always a great team with different characteristics, players of great quality and well-drilled organisation", said the former Sporting Lisbon boss post-match.
"We do not mind who we play. It was a lot of work to get to the semi-final, so we’ll try to recover the best we can to get on the pitch in the best possible condition.
"We have already played in Ukraine, now we’ll go to Donetsk. We have our aim, it is to win against Spain or France. There cannot be any other goal for us and we will try to do it."
