Feyenoord have rubbished speculation from England that they could re-sign Manchester City striker John Guidetti for next season.

Guidetti spent the 2011/12 campaign on loan at De Kuip and scored an astonishing 20 goals in 23 Eredivisie games.

While the Rotterdam giants were keen to keep the Swede on, there was an acceptance that the adventure had ended and Feyenoord are currently using their good relationship with Manchester City to bring Omar Elabdellaoui to De Kuip for next season.

The future of Guidetti however is still up in the air, especially as the striker told Inside Futbol that he does not want to sit on the bench at Manchester City, but instead continue to play regular first team football.

That though will not be at Feyenoord, the club’s technical director Martin van Geel has insisted as he rubbished reports from England.

"There is absolutely not truth in it", Van Geel told Eredivisie Live when questioned about the reports Guidetti could be back at Feyenoord next season.

"It is speculation based upon nothing", he added.
