Rafael van der Vaart has stressed that he is happy at Tottenham Hotspur as talk over his future continually swirls this summer, even if he would love to play for one of Europe’s elite one more time.

The Dutch playmaker is being continually linked with a return to the Bundesliga, where his former club Hamburg and Ruhr giants Schalke have been mooted as holding a serious interest in acquiring his services.

Van der Vaart has connections with Germany after his spell at Hamburg and insists he has always felt at home in the country.

But, Van der Vaart is keen to point out that he is happy at White Hart Lane, even if he still dreams of one more stint at a truly big club – the Dutchman has turned out at Real Madrid in the past.

"I’ve read it too, just like you", Van der Vaart told Voetbal Primeur when asked about talk of a switch to the Bundesliga.

"I hear some more, of course, but the real interest was not there", he added.

"I’d still like to play for a big club one more time. Where that might be, I don’t know. At Tottenham Hotspur, I have a few more years to go. I’m good there", stressed the Dutchman.

"We are of course a little German. Sylvie is working there, we had a Germany nanny and I speak a little fluent German."

While the schemer would no doubt be open to another Bundesliga experience at some point, he appears to have his mind firmly set on enjoying the 2012/13 campaign with Tottenham.
