Bundesliga side Werder Bremen have snapped up Czech Republic defender Theodor Gebre Selassie for around €2M.
The 25-year-old was in impressive form at Euro 2012 and featured in all four of his country’s matches at the tournament.
Gebre Selassie garnered much praise and had a number of European clubs scrambling around to find his agent’s contact details.
Werder Bremen were quick to agree a fee with the player’s club side, Czech champions Slovan Liberec, and the defender himself was delighted to agree to the switch to Germany.
"The decision to join Werder Bremen is definitely the correct one", said Gebre Selassie.
"Werder are a club with a lot of stability and tradition, they always set their goals very high.
"I want to follow up a successful season with Liberec by playing well for Bremen."
