Juventus are keen on signing central defender Bruno Alves from Zenit St. Petersburg.
Bianconeri boss Antonio Conte is on the lookout for another central defender and Alves has been identified as the club’s preferred acquisition.
The Portuguese defender won the Russian Premier League title with Zenit last season, but Luciano Spalletti’s team are willing to sell the player they paid €22M for in 2010 for the right price.
However, Juventus would rather take the 30-year-old on loan for next season, while Zenit prefer to sell.
At present this looks to be the only obstacle to a deal being done between both clubs which would take the former FC Porto man to Turin.
Alves won four Portuguese titles at Porto, but missed out on winning the Champions League under Jose Mourinho as he spent the 2003/04 campaign on loan at Vitoria Guimaraes.
