Swiss Super League side FC Sion are in talks to sign both Alessandro Del Piero and Filippo Inzaghi, according to sources in Italy.

Sion recently signed Gennaro Gattuso after the tough-tackling midfielder left AC Milan, but their appetite for hoovering up veteran Italian stars shows no sign of having been sated.

Now the Swiss club are looking to top the arrival of Gattuso by bringing both Del Piero and Inzaghi to the Stade Tourbillon.

Sion, owned by controversial president Christian Constantin, are ambitious to challenge for the Swiss Super League title next season and believe that pairing the 37-year-old Del Piero with the 38-year-old Inzaghi, could be a route to success.

Should Sion succeed in their attempts to sign both players, it would mark a rekindling of the partnership the duo formed at Juventus in the late 1990s.

There will be opposition for the signatures of both Del Piero and Inzaghi however, making Sion’s wish far from a done deal yet.
