Montpellier president Louis Nicollin has confirmed that the French champions have reached an agreement with Arsenal over striker Olivier Giroud.
The Gunners have pushed ahead with a swoop for the goalscorer and Giroud has already given his blessing to a move to the Emirates Stadium.
All that remained was for the details to be ironed out between the two clubs and now, Nicollin has revealed, that has been done.
"The negotiations have gone very well", Nicollin told French radio station RMC.
"We’ve agreed within the last few days."
Giroud is expected to rubber stamp his contract with Arsene Wenger’s men quickly and could be confirmed as an Arsenal player imminently.
The 25-year-old found the back of the net 21 times in 36 Ligue 1 games last season, helping Montpellier to a historic title win.
He travelled to Poland/Ukraine with Laurent Blanc’s France squad for Euro 2012 this summer, but was restricted to cameos as Les Bleus preferred to hand Karim Benzema the leading role.
