Italian giants Inter are weighing up signing either Manchester City full back Aleksandar Kolarov or Lyon man Aly Cissokho, if Lille right back Mathieu Debuchy slips through the net.
Inter are making advanced plans to deal with the possible departure of Brazilian defender Maicon, who only has one year left on his contract with the Nerazzurri.
While the most trouble-free option for the 2010 Champions League winners would be to sign Debuchy from Rudi Garcia’s Lille and slot the defender into Maicon’s right back place, other options are under consideration.
Debuchy is a wanted man – English side Newcastle have already made a bid for his services, as have Inter – and may not end up landing in Italy.
To address this, Inter could choose to play either Javier Zanetti at right back or switch Japanese full back Yuto Nagatomo to this side of the backline.
This would open up the left back position and see Inter move for either Manchester City’s Kolarov or Lyon’s Cissokho.
Neither would be cheap options, but the Nerazzurri believe that each could be available for the right price.
Kolarov struggled for first team football at the Citizens last season and has fond memories of Serie A from an impressive period spent at Lazio.
Lyon meanwhile have already indicated that Cissokho can leave the Stade Gerland – but want €11M for the privilege.
