Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath has admitted that offers for striker Mario Mandzukic will be considered by the Volkswagen Arena outfit.

Mandzukic, who is not believed to enjoying the most easy of relationships with Magath, was on fire for Croatia at Euro 2012, finding the back of the net an impressive three times as Slaven Bilic’s side threatened to qualify from Group C.

Of late Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with a bid for his services and Wolfsburg are already seen as having signed a replacement after buying Dutchman Bas Dost earlier this summer.

Now Magath has admitted that he will not stand in the 26-year-old’s way if the deal is right.

"At this moment in time it is a fact that some clubs are interested in attracting Mandzukic", Magath told German agency DPA.

"It is currently an open race.

"I do not prevent players from taking the next step. I have no problem when there is obvious interest, but I am not desperate to sell him."

Mandzukic joined Wolfsburg in 2010 from Dinamo Zagreb.
