Nicklas Bendtner is likely to use his fine Euro 2012 stint to seal a move away from Arsenal this summer.

The striker wanted to exit the Gunners last year, but only joined Sunderland on a season-long loan, a move which was far from the transfer to one of Europe’s elite he was believed to have envisaged.

Now his heroics for Denmark in Poland/Ukraine, which included two goals against Portugal, has seen interest in acquiring him skyrocket, his agent has confirmed.

And the likelihood is that the forward will now have a number of options from which to choose when he plots his next move away from the Emirates Stadium.

"The interest in Nicklas is overwhelming", Bendtner’s agent Jesper Lynghus told Bold.dk.

"But this is also to be expected when you see how he played at the European Championship", he added, before adding that the player’s desire to leave Arsenal is gaining force.

"Every day we move one step closer.

"We will not discuss the names of clubs though, but it is clear that there is interest from across the world."

Bendtner scored eight goals in the Premier League last season in 29 games for Sunderland. He is under contract with Arsenal until 2014.
