Lazio could be interested in signing John Guidetti from Manchester City if they do not succeed in buying Tranzonspor forward Burak Yilmaz.

Roberto De Fanti, an agent claiming to represent Guidetti within Italy, has insisted that conversations about the 20-year-old concerning the Rome giants have taken place.

“I cannot hide the fact that Gudetti has been spoken about in connection with Lazio, because several Italian and European clubs are interested in him”, De Fanti told Cittaceleste.it.

“He is the best under-21 striker in Europe. He played well in a league where Ruud van Nistelrooy and Marco van Basten started out.

“If Lazio do not close the deal for Yilmaz, then that could open the door for Guidetti.”

Turkey international striker Yilmaz however remains clearly Lazio’s primary target with the Rome outfit ready to pair him up with veteran goal-getter Miroslav Klose.

Yilmaz was prolific in last season’s Turkish Super Lig, but has conceded that he is ready to move to another league to take the next step in his career, a stance the Trabzonspor president is fully aware of.
