Lokomotiv Moscow have snapped up Croatian defender Vedran Corluka from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old was expected to leave White Hart Lane this summer after struggling for first team football; indeed, Corluka had already spent time away from Spurs, having joined Bayer Leverkusen on a six-month loan in the January transfer window.

Corluka was first linked with Lokomotiv Moscow earlier this month as the club’s new coach Slaven Bilic looked to snap up his countryman.

And the Russian Premier League outfit are delighted to get their man.

"Vedran is a top class defender with great skills and physique who can be a force in the air too", read a statement issued by Lokomotiv Moscow.

"He was a target for several European clubs, but Vedran himself has made the decision to join our team.

"It helped us in our negotiations with Tottenham."
