Dutch midfielder Ibrahim Afellay is believed to have turned down the chance to move to French giants Lille.
Afellay, who currently plays his football for Barcelona, has been the subject of a €7M bid from Rudi Garcia’s side as they look to make up for losing Eden Hazard to Chelsea earlier this summer.
Holland international Afellay is available at the right price, despite having missed large chunks of his Barcelona career – he joined the Blaugrana in January 2011 – through injury.
But the attacking midfielder is thought to have informed Barcelona that he does not wish to move to Lille and would prefer to see out his current contract.
Afellay is under contract until 2015 at the Camp Nou.
There are thought to be several other clubs tracking the Dutchman and it is unclear whether his stance is a solid one or whether an offer from one of Europe’s elite could tempt him to backtrack.
