Hard-working midfielder Seydou Keita is close to leaving Barcelona to join the influx of players making the move to the Chinese Super League.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, Keita is edging towards agreeing to sign for Chinese outfit Dalian Aerbin.
The Blue Hawks, as the club are known, gained promotion to China’s top flight last year and have grabbed a comfortable mid-table position so far this season, sitting 10th in the 16-team league, after 15 games.
Dalian Aerbin are keen to make a splash however and signing Keita would be a big signal of the club’s intent to push up the league.
The 32-year-old would be richly rewarded if he chose to join Dalian Aerbin and would be in good company in China’s top flight.
Already this summer Yakubu, Didier Drogba and Frederic Kanoute have agreed to sign for Chinese clubs, while former Italy coach Marcello Lippi has taken over at Guangzhou Evergrande.
