Veteran midfielder Clarence Seedorf has signed for Brazilian outfit Botafogo on a two-year deal, the club have announced.
"He is the greatest foreign player ever to sign with a Brazilian club", said Botafogo president Mauricio Assuncao on his side’s official website.
"He is not really coming here for money", he added.
"Seedorf is a player who is driven by challenges."
The legendary Dutchman was heavily linked with a move to Brazil last summer, but opted to remain with AC Milan for one further season.
Now the 36-year-old is ready to experience football in South America.
And for Seedorf’s wife Luviana, the move means a return home – she is Brazilian.
