Spain shot-stopper Iker Casillas believes that this evening’s Euro 2012 final, which sees his La Roja side go up against Italy, is a 50-50 affair.

The two sides met in the group stage for a match which was the Euro 2012 opener for both teams, and played out an entertaining 1-1 draw; few clues then as to who the eventual winner of this vital clash will be.

Casillas’ Spain are reigning European and world champions, but will not come into the match with a sense of overconfidence, and the Real Madrid man explained that Italy will be afforded much respect.

"We respect them. They have shown that they are not here by chance"
, said Casillas.

"They have a strong team and they are difficult to play against.

"We don’t believe that we are the favourites. It is quite the opposite. We think it is 50-50."

The Euro 2012 final looks set to be an intriguing battle between two different tactical set-ups, with the possibility Spain coach Vicente del Bosque will not field a recognised striker a real one.
