Juventus and Wolfsburg are leading the chase for Bologna attacking midfielder Gaston Ramirez, the player’s agent has claimed.

Ramirez has been linked with a whole host of clubs over the last 12 months, including Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Inter and Real Madrid, as his silky skills have stood out in Serie A.

But now the field of suitors is narrowing and the Uruguayan’s agent Pablo Betancourt has revealed that, in his eyes, it is Italian champions Juventus and Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg who are doing the most talking with regards to buying his client.

Asked by Calcio Mercato whether chatter he met with Juventus last week is true, Betancourt replied: "No, it is not, though I must admit that Juventus are interested in the player."

Betancourt also addressed talk of Wolfsburg, confirming that the German club are suitors.

"With them there is an ongoing concrete discussion. And in this case I can confirm that he has spoken with their management."

Earlier in the week, Bologna’s director general, Roberto Zanzi, hinted that the Rossoblu want €20M for Ramirez – and while Betancourt does not deny this, he is at pains to point out that negotiation can take place.

"I don’t like to talk about figures. The valuation placed on the boy is very high and do not forget that 30% of his rights belong to Penarol.

"But I think that if someone seriously wants him, then an agreement can be found with the Rossoblu."
