Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi, with the Argentine due in the French capital.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men are believed to have agreed a fee with Napoli, after much discussion, and Lavezzi will undergo a medical in Paris tomorrow.
As long as that process proceeds without a hitch, the forward is likely to put his signature to a four-year contract at the Parc des Princes.
PSG are thought to be paying around €30M for Lavezzi and the signing of the 27-year-old will go some way towards addressing Ancelotti’s desire for a top class striker.
The former Chelsea manager has been linked with swoops for a number of forwards, including Gonzalo Higuain, Edinson Cavani and Dimitar Berbatov – but Lavezzi is a player who has consistently been on Ancelotti’s radar.
With a Champions League campaign to come next season, Ancelotti is determined that PSG should make a splash and, with backing from the sovereign wealth fund of Qatar, money is no object.
