Mario Balotelli is worth €250M, according to his agent, and is also unlikely to return to Italy in the near future.
Despite being on the losing side as Spain thrashed Italy 4-0 in the Euro 2012 final, Balotelli’s heroics for the Azzurri in the semi-final against Germany reaffirmed his world-class status.
The Manchester City striker looked Italy’s main attacking threat throughout the tournament and also came close to putting England to the sword comprehensively in the country’s quarter-final, just missing his finishing boots on the night.
Now the Italian will be looking forward to another season at club level with Manchester City, where he will surely aim to help the Citizens record a better Champions League campaign than that clocked up last year.
He is, undoubtedly, not available for transfer, but if he were, it would take a world-record fee to sign him, his agent Mino Raiola has insisted.
"I always said that Mario Balotelli is one who can be amongst the strongest players in the world and he is certainly amongst the strongest in Europe", Raiola told Sky Sport.
"I don’t know about the current transfer market, but if I were to say a price, I would say €250M, but you need to ask the owner of City what he is worth.
"Mario is not returning to Italy, 200 per cent. Unless he has another agent, he will not come back, for sure."
